My name is Eva Houston, and I am a queer Paralympic wheelchair racer from Omaha, Nebraska. Wheelchair racing became the love of my life when I was 15 years old.  I currently train at the University of Illinois which is home to the largest wheelchair racing team in the country. I run the 100m, the 800m, half-marathons, and marathons! In 2021, I qualified for the Paralympic games in Tokyo, Japan where I competed with the strongest disabled athletes in the world. I have always had big goals when it comes to racing, but more than anything, I run because of the people in the running community and the joy of moving my body every day. When I am not studying environmental science, I enjoy painting and good conversation over a cup of coffee.
