My name is Kamal-Craig Golaube and I am a proud alumni of Colorado State University (CSU) Track and Field where I received my Bachelor’s of Science in Sports Medicine and Graduate Certificate in Nutrition Sciences. I ran all the hurdle events during my time as a student-athlete and involved with multiple organizations throughout my time as a RAM. Before Colorado State University, I started college athletics at Portland State University (PSU) where I have the 60mH record and 110mH - 2nd in PSU history. I transferred to CSU in 2018 where I helped the CSU Men’s Track & Field win 3 Mountain West Championship:

    * 55 meter hurdles - 7.46 - 8th in CSU History

    * 60 meter hurdles - 8.00 - T10th in CSU History

As for leadership, I am the founder of the organization Colorado State Athlete Ally that serves and celebrates the inclusion of LGBTQIA+ student-athletes, staff, faculty, and allies. Furthermore, I served as the student-athlete representative on the “Together Initiative Council,” which works to keep Athletics accountable and to ensure the safety of black student-athletes, staff, and faculty; served on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) as chair of Diversity and Inclusion; and advocated for queer student-athletes to use their voices and uplift the student-athlete experience.

There are many articles about my advocacy and have been featured on OutSports to tell my story and journey from the student-athlete perspective. Continuing my journey, I moved to Ohio in June of 2022 to work as the Assistant Student-Athlete Engagement Coordinator at The Ohio State University. After spending six months in this role, my passion for fitness continued to grow stronger and currently work as the Assistant Manager and instructor at a fitness boutique studio known as SPENGA. I have been with SPENGA since October 2020 in Fort Collins, CO and now for the SPENGA Columbus locations in Ohio. I am also signed with two modeling agencies.
